Quilt Guild Programs

Below is a list of the current quilt guild programs I offer.  Most of my patterns can be offered as guild workshops as well.  The Brickyard pattern is a particularly great workshop because in most cases, the top can be finished in a day-long workshop!  Email me for pricing and additional information!

History of Quilting in North Carolina

This is program based on the book, North Carolina Quilts through the NC Museum of History and my own wanderings. There are stories to be told of trends across the state and through time and stories to be told of the women who left a beautiful mark on the history of our state. The program includes a slide show and a trunk show of antique quilts that follow me home.

What Was She Thinking?
Seeing What the Judge sees

Have you ever walked through a judged quilt show and wondered why one quilt won a ribbon and another one didn't?  Sometimes, from a viewer's standpoint, the decisions are obvious and sometimes, they make no sense at all.  During this program, I walk you through what happens on the judging floor for a quilt show and what the judge looks for in a prize winning quilt.  I critique my own work while you watch and hopefully, by the end of the program, help guild members feel more comfortable and encouraged to enter their quilts in your quilt show.

Bear Hug Quiltworks Trunk Show

For this program, I tell my story of how I became a quilter and bring my pattern samples and tell how they came about.  .There will be laughter and prizes!

Calming the Chaos:
How we reclaimed my quilt studio

I am a borderline hoarder especially when it comes to fabric and quilting paraphernalia (okay...with pretty much everything). In this program,  I'll show you how, with the intervention of friend, we reclaimed my quilt studio. The before photos are kind of scary if you are a neat freak so be warned!  I'll give you the tips and tricks for organizing your sewing area.
